These materials will be used during our R.E.L.A block and throughout the day to enhance my students learning of sight words to help them with early comprehension skills. The Lakeshore Nonfiction Sight-Word Readers introduce my students to a non-fiction text, with realistic colored pictures that focus on just 5-10 sight-words at a time, which will stimulate their interest in reading of the sight words and encourage them in early literacy as well. The Leveled Sight-Word Practice Cards set is designed to help students master sight-words level by level. This set will give my students the opportunity to read the words in context and complete engaging activities included. The set is a hands on experience for the students which reinforces their understanding of the sight words, comprehension, and writing skills. The Learning Sight-Words Activity Chest allows the students to to explore sight-words hands on in an engaging manner. In this set the students can match, find, build and write sight-words. This activity set allows for multiple means of expression incorporating an important learning tool for the student of Universal Design for Learning. The students will be able to learn to best of their ability and not be limited to one way. The Learning Sight-Words Activity Chest will help to teach sight words, along with early reading strategies.
