My school is made up mostly of African American and Hispanic children of very low income families. Their parents work very hard to provide them with their basic needs and the school community also provides them with all that we can for each one to feel successful. For some this requires a lot of support and extra time but in the end we all feel it is worth it. They attend a public school with about 600 students. Class sizes are increasing due to budget cuts. Many students don't rely on teachers as their role models. A job we take seriously.
