Taking Our E-Sports E-Thletes to the Next Level
Funded Apr 7, 2022thank you ever so much for your generosity! My students were beyond thrilled to have the new chairs and quickly volunteered to stay after school to put them together when they arrived. They now "fight" over them at lunch when they finish eating and are ready to have some "practice" time. They are VERY much looking forward to our next season of E-sports in the fall.
While we will definitely be needing more chairs like this, the three you helped fund were a GREAT start in furnishing a "true" esports program. We are looking forward to the future with the program.
Again, thank you very much!”

Funded Jan 10, 2022Within two weeks of being funded, we had all of our supplies delivered! We held an unboxing party in my classroom at lunch, and the excitement was amazing! Since the addition of our classroom Switch and its accessories, we evolved into an official e-sports team, competing against other schools in the state. The Switch has been a great help in getting the team up and running. We are all grateful to the donors as the kids can practice at lunch, play after school, and not have to worry about HAVING to bring their own equipment from home. I have already been approached by many students looking to join our e-sports teams in the fall.
Thank you all so much for helping to make this happen for the students!”

Funded Jul 4, 2019Thank you ever so much for your generosity! Last spring, I had the opportunity to attend a conference where I learned how I can implement Math 360 in my classroom, allowing me the opportunity to have the students get up and move while I could see all the work going on in each small group. The supplies you so generously paid for will allow me to put the session on Math 360 to full use in my classroom.
My supplies arrived in the middle of class, today, and the kids were really excited to see them. They know it will give them the opportunity to collaborate and get feedback in an environment that is conducive to their learning.
I will be taking these supplies and turning them into usable, scannable Rocketbook poster pages that the students can scan directly into their OneNote notebooks that we use for class. This will allow them to turn these activities into usable notes as well as just a collaborative assignment. They are very excited to see how writing something on a poster can be turned into a multimedia source of information.
Thank you ever so much!”

High Schoolers Need Tables, Too!
Funded Aug 17, 2018I cannot thank you enough for your generous gift! My students are so much more comfortable in class now having tables instead of confining desks. They love sitting and working in groups. Discourse is such an important aspect of mathematics that many forget about. Students working together, helping one another succeed gives them more enjoyment in a math class.
I have one specific support class in which I run a 3-station rotation three to four days a week. having the tables makes it so much easier to set everything up and keep the students on track.
When the students saw the tables, they were beyond excited, which is saying a lot for ninth graders! They loved the opportunity to be able to converse and move around with ease, instead of tripping over desks or having to move them just to get out of their seats.
The next step to this project has already been posted on Donor's Choose, as I would like to provide some flexible seating options such as yoga balls, bean bag chairs, and standing desks for those students where traditional seating still does not work.
I will continue to utilize the tables, changing groups and continuing to encourage the students to work together to foster a better understanding of the mathematical concepts. I could not have gotten the needed materials without your support, and I am very grateful. Thank you. :-)”
