I teach 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade. My sixth grade is split up into two sections of 18-20 students each. My 7th grade is made up of 32 individuals. My 8th grade has 28 students. My freshmen class has 30 students. I teach English five periods a day. I pre-teach one period and re-teach during another period for students who need extra help with homework or grasping concepts. My classroom has four bookshelves with over 800 titles, most of which have come out of my pocket. I have 32 desks, the kinds with the chairs attached so they aren't very useful when it comes to group work and collaboration. I have a "group work table" at the side of my room. A rectangular table from the old science room - believe it or not - with mismatched chairs. Anytime I see someone getting rid of a chair I take it because my students would rather sit here than anywhere else.
