Movement Breaks Are Important to Our Learning!
Funded Sep 16, 2021Thank you so much for our sensory and "movement break" supplies. We have frequent movement breaks in our classroom. These movement breaks help to regulate the students and help them get their energy out in between learning activities. We were also able to incorporate and work on communication goals using some of these items. With the tunnel, the students were able to practice the words "go" and "in". With the bean bag toss came we were able to practice colors and gross motor movements such as throwing and aiming at a target. With the hopscotch rug we were able to practice counting and jumping. The students were so happy when these materials arrived! Thank you again!”

Building Language Through Play
Funded Sep 28, 2020This project really helped out my student's during remote learning. At this young age , student's can learn many skills through play. This project allowed me to give them some play materials to have inside of their homes. I wanted each student to be able to have the same materials so that they could take part in our facilitated play together on zoom. The student's would recognize when they had the same manipulative or toy as a peer and would have a big smile on their face. We were able to make learning and playing fun through zoom with these materials.
When I delivered the supplies to the student's homes they were all so happy with smiles on their faces and the families were very grateful! It brought joy to see their faces light up during a difficult time.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to get my students the play materials the needed, to help make remote learning for preschoolers with autism fun!”

Adapted and Sensory Materials Will Help Us Learn at Home.
Funded May 5, 2020Thank you so much for donating these supplies during this difficult time. Navigating distance learning was something that was new for everyone and definitely a challenge at first. The materials that you donated were delivered to my students' homes and helped them with in home learning by giving them all the materials they needed to reach the curriculum and be successful. Delivering the packages brought smiles to all of my students and their families. I cannot thank you enough! With your donations I was able to create materials for them that were used during read alouds. I am grateful that I was able to get these resources to help me continue teaching from home.”

This classroom project was brought to life by SONIC Drive-In and 2 other donors.Adaptive Books Help Us Learn
Funded Nov 26, 2019I can't begin to thank you enough for all of your donations. The laminating sheets, Velcro, book binding machine, laminator, and ink have allowed me to make the books that I need adapted for my classroom. I make these books on a weekly basis (1-2 books are used each week). These adapted books allow the students to access the curriculum and make gains that may have not been reached without the books. These books are very hands on and engaging for the students. Each books involves some sort of activity. The students sit at circle and attend to these stories, where many would not be able to attend to a regular children's book. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.”

Color, Visuals, Books, OH MY!
Funded Mar 14, 2018Thank you so much for the colored printer, along with the ink, paper, laminating sheets, and Velcro. Because of your generosity I was able to use those materials to make adaptive books for the students in my classroom. I made about 10 books since I received the materials and they were very beneficial!
The adaptive books are used during circle time. Each book I made went along with the theme of the week. Using typical preschool books in my classroom makes it difficult for the students to understand and many cannot follow along. With the help of the adaptive books, they are able to engage and interact with the story. The students were able to sit for circle time longer and enjoyed these stories.
I can't thank you enough for allowing us to finish the school year off on a great note. I will continue making books like these over the summer. They helped to increase my students receptive as well as expressive language. We appreciate everything you were able to donate, and can't wait to use it all again next school year!”

Ms. Pease
