Our students are mostly African American and is a mixture of city and rural students. 100% of our student receive free lunch. Most of our students are not afford the opportunity to experience hands on learning activities because of the lack of resources. Natchez-Adams County is a declining community (resulting in a declining tax base); located in Mississippi (which has not fully funded education in over 20 years), the district and school will lose even more state funding for the 2018-2019 school year. Our students are inquisitive; however, are mostly lower preforming. This opportunity to be involved in hands on activities and project greatly improve students attention and performance. Physics is a new course for Natchez High, it has been about 5 years, since it was last taught. Although, there are some resources, they are very old and in need of replacement. The things that I will order is just a beginning.
