    This classroom project was brought to life by Con Edison and 7 other donors.
The materials (field boots) I am requesting will help my students fully embrace the environment in environmental science. A large portion of the AP Environmental Science curriculum is field work and research. Having a school located in Brooklyn, NY it is hard to go out an experience the environment. We will be going on field trips to help fulfill this portion of the curriculum and most of my students don't have the proper shoes to go to forests and wetlands we will be visiting. The boots will be used for all of our outings and field trips we take this year(and many years after) for environmental science. Having the proper boots to do field research will really help the students embrace the science and stand in the dirt. I have seen how taking the students out of the city on a hiking trip has effected them. I would love for them to be able to fully embrace doing research and having field boots will make them all feel like the scientists they already are!

About my class
