In an inner city school of almost 600 children, there are going to be lots of times when they become sick or ill. Those students need a place to lie down and rest before their parents arrive or even IF their parents can arrive. Like adults, sometimes a temperamental student just needs a break and a few minutes to get things back together. My students need comfortable chairs for a twenty first century alternative seating classroom! These pieces of furniture will be used to fit those needs. Students can talk with the counselor, read a book, or just take a mental break from the stresses of the day. Because of funding issues, our schools are not able to afford these luxuries. But a nice resting place can make all the difference in the world to a child who is sick, irritated, or just needing some comfort time.
