• Grow Through What You Go Through

  Wow! What a great way to start the year! My students were so excited to hear that we were getting a pet for the guidance office! They instantly started coming up with names for our fish. Once it arrived, they set everything up on their own and got the tank up and running. We were all amazed at how quickly the plants grew from the fertilization process. It has been such a great learning experience for my students. In addition, it has allowed certain students an outlet when they are feeling upset. Students volunteer to feed the fish and clean the tank - they thrive on having a "job." We love our new fish friend and we're so thankful for your support! Thank you, again!”

• Making Mental Health a Priority

  Thank you so much for your generous donations. The Amazon Flex devices have made a huge impact in our classroom. The calming music helps students focus during class and gives off an all-around better learning environment. In addition, we also have been using the Amazon Flex devices as our bell system. Our school holds grades 7-12, but our bell system is outdated and can only run one bell schedule. Because 7th and 8th grade run on a separate bell schedule, these devices have made such a difference. Gone are the days when teachers had to use their cell phones to release their classes. We are so thankful for your support! Thank you, again!”

• A Little Kindness Goes a Long Way!

  My students and I had big plans for this project for teacher appreciation day on May 5, 2020. We never would have imagined that we would have to celebrate this day from home. Unfortunately, we didn't get to put these materials to use the way we had imagined. We planned to surprise our staff with special treats throughout the week by delivering them on the cart. Rather than letting the treats go to waste (they expired before the end of the school year), we delivered them to students in need during the shutdown. Our students were very grateful for the snacks.

  As for our teachers and staff, students wrote personalized emails thanking teachers for all that they do. We hope that this year will be different and we can celebrate our teachers and staff in person. Thank you so much for your support! We hope you are pleased with how we ended up using these materials.”

• Learners Longing for a Reliable Laptop

  Funded May 5, 2020

  Thank you so much for your generous donations toward this laptop. It has made such a difference in my ability to provide my students with what they need to be successful, whether that be for their junior high, high school, or post-secondary experiences. I have used it to work from home to write letters of recommendation and complete the college application process for seniors. I have also used it to plan engaging classroom lessons.

  Additionally, this laptop came at a crucial time when I needed to be able to access my students from home. The Lenovo laptop has a reliable camera that I could use to hold virtual meetings with my students while we were shut down. I also used it to create presentations for virtual orientations with students and families.

  Finally, with our seniors not getting the typical end of the senior year experience, my co-workers and I created senior spotlights to highlight our senior's achievements before they graduated. I couldn't have asked for a better product and it's all thanks to you! Thank you so much for your support - it is greatly appreciated!”
