Our school has recently become a part of a program called Little Kids Rock. This program brings music education to students using modern band instruments such as guitars, pianos, and drums. Our students and families LOVE it and many students are in the classroom outside of music class jamming out and learning. Our goal is to get guitars and pianos for our returning students so that they can practice at home and continue making music! Our school is made up of mostly low-income families where buying an instrument may not be something that is realistic. Students that already have instruments at home are consistently going above and beyond what they are asked to do in the classroom because they love what they are doing. I would love for as many students as possible to have this opportunity to thrive. Students will submit an application (written or video) where they talk about what instrument they would like to own and why. Students will be chosen based on the application process as well as how many instruments we can get funding for. Every little bit helps!
