  • Mathletes Workout!

    Thank you for your generous donations! Back in my first year of teaching, I did not know what I would need to teach my students. However, with your contribution had helped many students I have had over the last 5 years of teaching. On a daily basis, we have practiced our number sense, addition, and subtraction skills. During our calendar time, we have practiced telling time, building numbers with base ten blocks, and comparing numbers. This special time in our day sent foundation that students will use as they continue onto their scholar careers.

    The items from this project were used by over 100 students since 2016. Thank you once again for taking part in the education of many and many more to come.”

  • Electrify First Grade!

    Thanks to your donations, students have been able to experience hands-on learning through this project. My class has enjoyed the opportunity to get real life experience with electricity and circuits. I appreciate the support you have given to me and my students to make learning more than reading from a textbook. While my class has learned about science, they also learned a great deal in problem-solving, peer interactions, and perseverance. It is moments like these that this children will never forget. As a teacher, there are many materials and manipulatives I lack to provide my students with a varied and accessible instruction. I hope that with the appropriate materials that my students can thrive in their math skills and feel prepared as they continue onto the next grade. The materials I have chosen will help me provide additional support for students utilizing strategies that correlates with our curriculum. With that being said, our goal in our class is to be strong mathletes. We practice and train every day to do our best and exercise our brains! The use of number lines, number bonds, and base ten blocks are essential to master our standards in mathmatical concepts. What better way than to be hands on!

About my class
