Funded May 9, 2023I first need to say that my students were so excited when these books came so quickly after my project was funded. I had to immediately get a sheet of paper and make a list of the books and the students who were already checking them out in my library. I have a waiting list for these books that students can't wait to read! Some of the skills that are introduced by these texts are dialogue and rich vocabulary exposure.
Reading in my classroom is not always as a reading lesson. I keep that separate than reading for pleasure. I usually read aloud to the students at the beginning of each class. Next, we will work on our reading skill of the day, have class discussion, and practice the skill. Last, we have reading time where we all read a book of our choice. The students start out slow, but by the end of the year they can't wait to get to their own book. ( By the end of the year they are begging for more silent reading time!)
All students are loving these books! I try to choose books that will satisfy both male and female students. This series seems to be a winner!”

Funded Apr 1, 2023Thank you so much for funding my project "History Mystery". The exciting part about this project is that it can be used digitally as well as paper and pencil. Students love trying to figure out mysteries and with this project they can learn while being detectives.
In our school every student has an iPad they can use to do research. This keeps all students on a level playing field where technology is concerned.
All of our students have warmed up to using this technology, but our hands on learners are really thriving with it.
Thank you again for funding this project so that my students can be detectives in the classroom with this mystery project.”

Let Me Read, and Watch Me Grow!
Funded Mar 30, 2023Thank you so much for supporting my classroom and donating my classroom library. Your donation has provided around fifty books! The two book series that you provided are both in graphic novel form. Graphic novels may seem like child's play to some, but teachers know that those are books that are filled with rich vocabulary and written in a way that children can understand. Daily silent reading (reading for pleasure) is something that my students look forward to everyday. The female and male students both were excited to receive "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" series, and "Dog Man" series. As soon as I had them labeled they grabbed them up quickly to read. Thank you so much for investing in my students and our future.”

Funded Mar 30, 2023Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom library. The students were so excited to receive them, and couldn't wait to check them out. Reading in my classroom is an everyday occurence that students look forward to. With this donation it supplied thirty-six new books for our classroom library. The Goosebumps set of books that we received were highly appreciated by my students, especially the boys. They have been begging for this series and because of your donation their dreams came true. The girls were excited to read about other females in leadership positions. I'm always looking for books that can inspire our future.”

Funded Aug 19, 2022My students and myself were so excited when this project was fully funded! This has been a unique year for myself because I taught these students last year in the 3rd grade and now have the same students in the fourth grade this year. It's starting to look like because of numbers I will be moving to 5th grade with this group next year. This means that this group of students are really going to get to enjoy these school supplies. We are using these classroom supplies in all aspects of our learning. One project that really sticks out is our Presidential Research Project. In this project every student has a different American President to research. This project has writing and art components to it. Every student in the 4th grade had all the supplies that they needed in their supply box in their desk due to the generous donations for this project. Every student was so excited and surprised when they saw all of the supplies. They loved having their own box with supplies. Thank you so much for the smiles you put on their faces!”
