I would love to add comfortable seating in my classroom. A warm classroom environment promotes a sense of security as well as a sense of pride for their class. Having a place to get away in a soft cozy area, reading their favorite book, can increase academic achievement and improve social and emotional skills. A safe and nurturing environment is an important part of learning and development. It also helps prevent challenging behaviors. A child needs a place to retreat when things get too hectic, or when the child becomes tired. A new couch and chair would be that special place to help us achieve these goals.
