My students' varying learning styles are best met with hands-on activities. Especially in building their independence with math, there's no better way to do so with manipulatives and opportunities to practice real-world scenarios. These skills will transfer to our work-study activities as well. With these materials, we can practice skills regarding time, money, shapes, and measurement. These skills are relevant outside of our classroom and will help my student become independent young adults. I hope that I am able to teach my student math skills that they will be able to use for life, but more importantly the confidence to know they can!
