  • Flexible Seating for First Grade

    Funded Jan 25, 2020

Thank you so much for your generosity. I am very excited to start our flexible seating in our classroom during independent work.

My students are very hard workers and they love to try new things. I am very happy to provide them with this new experience.

Working comfortably on the spot of their choice is going to be great!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rodriguez-Arellano

  • Beyond the Books...Technology Taking Us to the STARS!!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

My students and I are extremely grateful for your generosity!!

As you may know, many children don't have access to technology nor Internet at home. With these pads, the kids have discovered new ways to find information, do research for science, practice math and their reading skills.

They are very excited about exploring our new technology tools. But most of all they are learning that there are fabulous people who want to be part of their education and are willing to share, donate money and time to help our children's future.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rodriguez-Arellano

Our neighborhood is an extremely low socio-economic area in Austin, Texas. Our school computers are outdated and these students crave to learn by exploring technology! They want to learn the language through listening, speaking, reading and writing! iPads offer this and more for these ELL students. My 2nd grade students do not have access to internet, technology and/or computers at home and their young minds are longing for implementing the use of technology into their learning and researching. These requested five Apple iPad tablets will take them to places around the world to further enhance their knowledge. They can learn the English language in a variety of ways. They can learn about other countries, conduct research, read books from any genre and level, access current events....the possibilities will be endless for my students. Right now we have only one desktop in a learning center and I observe these students trying to read, write, and just so eager to use technology to help them in language acquisition. They enjoy educational videos, audio books, and conducting research or reading about current events.
