PD Love, Lead and Inspire!
Funded Oct 2, 2024Thank you for your generous donation to fund the Love em' and Lead em' books for our staff! The book has provided our staff an opportunity to connect and has highlighted the importance of showing genuine care and understanding for students and each other at our school! The short reflections help us continue to build empathy, trust and create a positive environment that filters to our students in and out of the classrooms at Gates Street Elementary.
Our weekly professional developments are initiated with a different staff member speaking to a reflection and has strengthen a common understanding of the significance of building relationships, taking the time to understand our needs, struggles, and motivations to show up daily as the best version of ourselves to empower and better serve our students. This book has been a reminder for all of us to be more intentional in building a positive culture, requiring all of us to take a deeper look into our beliefs and leading with creating a supportive environment where we are more aware to feel safe, valued, and appreciated. Our sense of community has been strengthened!”

Funded Dec 29, 2023Thank you so much for your donations! Students have engaged with laminated math materials! My students have played place value games and reviewed Math skills as those in the pictures provided. Before having a laminating machine, I had to reproduce materials such as flashcards and Math games that would rip apart frequently during small group instruction and this would cause interrruption!
Now, students have maximized their learning engagement with laminated materials. We have created and laminated student work too! Having students solve math problems and having their work laminated has provided other students in the same group to use a white board eraser to elevate each other's thinking! The engagement and group discussions around Math concepts have been empowering to students!
Thank you again!”
