Every teacher recognizes the familiar chug-chug-chug of the copy machine. It is a sight (and sound) that often takes up time from our precious planning time, time that could be spent improving lessons or giving students feedback. To combat this, our sixth grade class would greatly benefit from an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. This technology will not only free-up preparation time, but will also allow me to reach each individual students. An iPad Pro would give our classroom access to technology and programs that were previously unavailable. For instance, programs such as AirServer would allow our class to project student work onto a project from anywhere in the room. I would also no longer be attached to the board during lessons. It allows me to walk around the classroom and teach from anywhere. Suddenly our classroom is mobile and I am able to help individual students while still engaging the whole class. Our class uses Google Classroom heavily, which has a user-friendly app. Using this more often would help my students become even better digital users and more prepared to go out into society. An iPad Pro transforms learning. This technology gives access to a plethora of tools that would enhance and increase student learning. Rather than taking a week to get feedback to students, the iPad Pro would allow me to grade in real-time and return student work within minutes. This immediate feedback would help them improve their writing because it is at the forefront of their minds. The Apps available present information in multiple ways giving every learner a chance to develop as a student. Our classroom has already greatly benefited from technology, but with an iPad Pro, we would become unstoppable learners.
