My Students Inspire Me!
Funded Mar 23, 2018Since my students received their gifts, I have noticed that they have been able to use the materials to calm down their bodies. Throughout the school year students will self-select the materials for when they are having a hard time or when they would like to relax in the classroom. One specific material that my students have loved are the vibrating pillows. The group of students have loved the pillows for many reasons. One student in particular loves to use the pillows when they want to calm down. The student will squeeze the pillows and it would help him relax. The students also love to lie down and use them during break times throughout the day. My group have loved them since I brought them into the school!
The day that I brought them into the classroom, the kids were so excited to use the materials. The first day the kids were thrilled with the weighted blankets. They would use them when they were in choice time or when they weren't feeling well. I remember the weighted blankets and the pillows were used for our Fun Friday. All of the students were at the circle time area of the room and were using the materials to relax and enjoy the afternoon.
The kids use the materials everyday during circle time, choice time and many other times throughout the school day. I am thrilled with impact the materials have made on my classroom. I hope to continue to incorporate them into everyday activities for the students for a variety of reasons. Thank you all for your wonderful support and helping a group of wonderful kids.”
