Many of my students need large muscle input to be able to focus throughout the day. Without items such as a trampoline or a spin chair, my students try to regulate themselves by knocking over large items or running around the room in order to get that input they're seeking. By having a sensory room available, my students will be able to regulate their bodies to focus on everything else throughout the day. Having these items in our sensory room will mean that we have a close station that is available all day for them to use. Just like adults who click pens at meetings or bounce their leg, my students need ways in which they can experience positive sensory input.
