In the introduction, I have emphasized where a majority of my students reside. We live in a very isolated area where resources are very limited to many families. One of the many topics I teach in my Science classes is sustainability. I would like my students to understand that solar energy is one of natural resources that they can look into as an alternative resource rather than relying on a private electric company to provide for their electricity. Building solar cars is a basic introduction to sustainability as an alternative resource for power. With the vast growing of technology in our everyday lives, we all need to learn to stay caught up in the trend one way or another. With the Arduinos, students will be able to program interface boards with easy-to-use technology to create microcontroller-based projects. Students will be able to use codes to program and control lights. These two introductory projects can help students become familiarized with specialized areas in engineering. If I can get a handful of my students interested in the topics of sustainability and coding, I'll be on my way to helping create a path of a new generation of engineers. With your help in donations to purchase these items, it would be a HUGE blessing to these kids and a GREAT exposure to a 43 students in a small town in Arizona.
