Funded Jul 7, 2022With your help my students were able celebrate their hard work with lots of snacks, reflection, and enjoyment.
My students were thrilled to learn that strangers cared that much about their well-being. The day I showed my students the packages and the contents, they were overwhelmed with gratitude, simply knowing that a community of people was supporting them.
As we are currently having discussions about the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, we focus on themes of gratitude, generosity, selflessness, and paying it forward. Students reflect on how these kind donors have helped them, and how they in turn can be of help to others. They have identified who in their communities they plan to help, and how they will do so.
Your kindness has taught my students that giving makes others feel good and can change a life. They are also discovering that they are not too small to impact someone else's life.”

Funded Nov 30, 2021It is with heartfelt gratitude that I write you. My students are thrilled and excited to have age- appropriate books with relevant math content- related topics. As an educator, I have grown to appreciate the fact that reading is the skill of all skills. So, I am always happy when my math students are reading. But now, I am even happier because my math students are reading storybooks that incorporates and reinforces the math content that they learn in math class.
Having these books added to our class library also give students more options, and student choice is very important in developing well-rounded students.
My students would like all of you to know how grateful they are for you investing in their education, for you caring enough about them to purchase items for them that they needed.
I am forever thankful.”

Funded Aug 9, 2021It is with immense gratitude that I write this thank you note on behalf of myself and my students. Your thoughtfulness and generosity have given my students the opportunity to engage with technology in the classroom in a meaningful way. Students can now advance their math knowledge by using audio and video contents. My students are really enjoying their math lessons.
In addition, my students are no longer sharing headphones. Teaching and learning have changed a lot during the pandemic. Things that were once shared by students in a classroom can no longer be shared as we, teachers, try our very best to keep all our students safe as they learn. Having individualized items for each student can be very costly.
You, my kind and generous donors, have helped my students in this aspect and we are forever grateful.”

Amplify Math Content With Videos and Music
Funded Apr 14, 2021Thank you for making it possible to incorporate media content in a math lesson. As a math educator, I am always looking for fun and exciting ways to deliver math content to sixth grade students.
Thanks for your donation my students are now able to enjoy math videos. The blue tooth speaker amplifies the sounds from the videos making it possible for every students, regardless of where they sit in the classroom, to hear and engage in the lesson.
My students are enjoying the benefits of the blue tooth speaker. They are learning and enjoying math lessons.
You have made a difference in the lives of my students.
Thank you!”

It's Snack Time! Let's Celebrate Successes In Spite of Challenges.
Funded Jun 10, 2021My students and I thank you immensely for helping fund my class project, "It's Snack Time! Let's Celebrate Our Successes In Spite of Challenges."
Last school year was very difficult for my students who were forced to learn virtually due to the pandemic, but my students showed up and persevered through it all.
During the last week of school I was able to celebrate all my students with loads of snacks that you provided through your donations. My students paused from the monotony of online instruction, took their minds off of the many family members they lost last year due to Covid 19, and just be a sixth grade student for a moment. They laughed, they ate, they expressed how thankful they were to receive all those goodies.
My students said "thank you" over and over again on that day in June. We could never say it enough. Thank You!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Soya

Funded Apr 14, 2018Students use pencils only in my math class because as they are learning concepts or drawing shapes they do make mistakes. If they use pens, whenever they make a mistake instead of drawing a line through it, they opt to tear out the pages from their books instead. This causes two problems. When students tear pages out instead of erasing the mistake, they have to start their work all over again, and the limited 40 minute period may not allow them to do so. Also, when students tear their pages out they are also destroying work that they may have done on the other side of the page, and they will no longer have that work as a reference when reviewing or studying.
As a result of these reasons, students are encouraged to use pencils in math class. Can you imagine what its like in a room with 30 eleven year old students who are doing the following?
1) Interrupting other students to borrow a pencil sharpener (often with no cover so the shavings are left all over the floor.
2) Moving around to get to and from the garbage can to place the shavings.
This can be very distracting.
When my project got funded and I told my students that we will be getting an electric pencil sharpener, they were all elated. Every day they were asking if it reached yet. The day my classroom phone rang and I was told that a package is in the main office for me, I turned to the class and I said, "Guess what students?" They responded in harmony, as if on cue, "The sharpener is here!!
My students now spend less time on trivial matters like searching for a sharpener. They sharpen their pencils (the sharpener is very fast) and are ready to learn in no time.
Along with the electric pencil sharpener my students also have an electric stapler that they have been using to quickly staple separate work or projects together. This help them to keep their work organized.”

Ms. Soya
Technology Matters
Funded Apr 1, 2018Your warm generosity and selfless giving have impacted my students tremendously. My students can now work on individual differentiated math activities when needed. For instance, when I teach a math concept or skill some students may practice the skill on worksheets, others may use a workbook, and now I have small groups practicing the skill at on their iPads at an online site.
The sensory appeal that an online platform provides keep easily distracted students engaged, on task, and learning. When using the iPads to practice math skills, students spend extended time on task and persevere in solving them because their sensory organs are stimulated by bright colorful moving objects and sometimes sound.
Using the iPads to access online platforms and software have added excitement and joy to my math lessons.”

Funded Feb 26, 2018It is with a warm and grateful heart that I thank everyone who donated to Math Is Fun! All Can Learn In Different Ways! project. Because of your generosity, my students for the first time have a game buzzer of their own. They have been testing their math skills in fun ways, such as Math Jeopardy and Math Quiz.
Since the day the buzzers arrived at school my students have been using them either during their lunch period, after school, or during school to challenge themselves. My students' passion for learning have risen to a new level.
I am loving the way my students have fallen in love with ways to engage in Math activities.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Soya
