Naturally, children are curious. Curiosity leads to inquiry, inquiry leads to discovery and exploration, and the result is learning. In our classroom, we have a "Wonder Wall", which is a designated area for students to share and post questions and wonders that arise during learning time. Each day the students are encouraged to place their questions on the wall so that I can respond to them. Sometimes, however, it can be challenging to provide a prompt response. With access to tablets in the classroom, my students would be given the opportunity to explore their questions and wonders. Tablets would provide students with the pleasure of discovering and "finding out" on their own. Having this technology available would also make it possible for the students to choose and respond to the questions and wonders of others. This type of interactive learning would contribute to a space where the students can have conversations and discussions around the things that they are most curious about in connection with their learning. Not only would tablets be used for student inquiry, but also for creative projects, classroom collaboration, and to give students more experience using technology to enhance their learning in a digital age.
