If I were to have a Chromebook for every student, I would make my warm ups, exit tickets and extension activities all technology based (where applicable). I could also reduce the time needed to grade and give feedback to students if our formative assessments could be given through Google forms or Google Classroom assignments. This would enhance the communication when feedback is needed since I would be able to make comments on their work while they are working and students could provide feedback for each other as well. Google Classroom allows me to monitor my students while they are working on an assignment. This would enable me to recognize when a student is struggling on a specific skill and provide them private, individualized feedback. Chromebooks would allow me to transition to a paperless classroom and seamlessly align teaching and learning with 21st Century standards (ISTE, P21, technology TEKS). In practice, integrating student devices facilitates active engagement, real-time collaboration, and opportunities for multimedia project based learning outcomes. Students can interact with the curriculum without being passive recipients.
