My students are from a rural county where all schools are Title I. Although many of my students come from an agriculture community the majority they are not knowledgeable about agriculture. Students in my class love the hands-on activities they are able to do with the animals on campus. However, it is also important for them to have good test taking skills to help them succeed. Once the students take my class they walk out of my class as leaders and knowledgeable agriculturist. Over the last few years students have had several agriculture teachers come and go. We are trying to build the program back to where it once was and be active in the community.
