Students learn best through engaging, hands-on activities. Unfortunately, I do not have access to all the hands-on activities that would make such an impact on my students' learning. That's where you come in! Fifth grade is an important year to emphasize science, especially through experiencing the scientific method first hand. Dissecting owl pellets will be an excellent way to gain student interest in the Digestive system while also reviewing food webs. This interest will continue through the rest of the unit on the body systems, which we will continue to relate back to. This will be an activity they will never forget!
