Reading With Confidence
Funded Oct 19, 2024Thank you so much for funding my project. I am looking forward to using the leveled books to address all students’ needs and provide them with the opportunity to access text and build their confidence in reading.
My students will also be excited to use the toys/activities to enable them to work with each other.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Bolosan

Funded Mar 6, 2023Thank you so much for your generosity in funding this project. These items have become great incentives for my students. They are all very hardworking and are determined to complete their work in order to earn free time. My students demonstrate team work, sharing, and effective communication when they use items like the marble run center and floor puzzles.
The additional flex space items like the carpet, lap desks, and bean bag chairs have allowed me to create a library space that is comfortable and calming for the students. We now have enough flex space items so the students in my resource class can each use one.
The math resources are being used to maintain students' knowledge in previously taught lessons. They use these resources independently and/or with a partner while I work one-on-one with a student or during small group time.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Bolosan

Funded Oct 31, 2022I would like to take this time to express my gratitude for funding my project. The magnetic tiles and hands on/building activities have been a big hit and have been useful incentives when my students earn free time after completing their work. This has also allowed them to collaborate and work together in building structures and this has fostered their imaginations. The math resources have enabled my students to learn while being hands-on through building and learning by way of a board game.
The flex space floor seats and lap desks have given my students the ability to choose a comfortable space that limits distractions. The new classroom furniture has also given our classroom library a makeover and is always in use during independent work time.
All learning resources have benefited my students as they are all at different academic levels. From the leveled readers that are used for my students who struggle with reading, to the drill set that is used as an incentive for a student with fine motor needs, to the rainbow scratch papers and frames my students "purchase" from our classroom store to show their family.
This was all made possible because of your kind donations.”

Funded Mar 10, 2022I would like to take this time to thank you all for your generous donations. These resources will be used to deliver instruction that are modified and are specific to my students' needs in order to close the learning gap.
Our classroom library will also have new, leveled text that students can access and read independently.”

Funded Sep 23, 2019I would like to take this time to sincerely thank you for your generous donations to help me achieve my goal in creating a classroom environment that is welcoming for my students. They were so excited about their new classroom furniture because prior to my project being funded, they had only been able to use other furniture such as bean bag chairs and floor seats in places like the school library. It brings me joy to be able to say that they have "cool" classroom furniture they can call their own and be able to use daily.
Students are able to choose the classroom furniture they feel they will be most productive in (bean bag chairs, wobble cushions, flex-comfy floor sears, balance balls, and regular student chairs) and take ownership of their learning. I have students who can become fidgety and need constant movement and the wobble cushions via Donor's Choose, and the balance balls that was previously in my classroom come in handy. Other students like to feel as if they are lounging and they love using the bean bag chairs and the flex-comfy floor seats. Allowing the students to choose classroom furniture on a daily basis has enabled my students to take ownership in their learning.
I believe that the classroom plays an essential part in developing the child as a whole, and I am very thankful for the "Building Empathy Hardcover Library" books. We have done read alouds with these books, and build student engagement. They enjoyed reading "Hey, Little Ant" and shared about what they would do if they were a character in the story. They found similarities and differences between the characters, and I was able to integrate this lesson on social-emotional learning to their opinion writing.
Again, I would like to say a big mahalo (thank you in Hawaiian) for your kindness, generosity, and helping our Meiji (children) reach their full potential.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Bolosan
