Safety First!
Funded Dec 3, 2019Thank you again for your donation that ensured every student has access to comfortable and well fitting personal protective equipment. Lab safety is our number one priority when we are conducting an experiment, and students are much more willing and excited to use their personal protective equipment when it is new and functional. The use of personal protective equipment goes a long way to ensuring student safety. The lab aprons and goggles worked wonderfully during our lab. The goggles fit comfortably over the students eye glasses and aprons are available in a variety of sizes to accommodate all of the students.
The lab aprons and goggles will be able to be reused year after year, so your donation will have impact on future students.”

Turtle Trouble!
Funded Sep 23, 2019Having a turtle in the classroom has helped my students learn responsibility and respect for living beings in a way that only a beloved pet can do. My students really enjoy learning about native turtle species, feeding requirements, and how to take care of her needs. Being able to provide our turtle with the much needed upgrades to her habitat has been a wonderful experience for the turtle and students. Fudge, our turtle, now has a new tank and larger basking area, reptile lighting and upgraded filtration system so that Fudge will be able to educate students for years to come.
The new habitat and supplies have allowed my students to interact with our turtle, while keeping everyone healthy and happy. Thank you for your support.”

Illustrating With Highest Marks
Funded Feb 13, 2019Thank you for helping fund "Illustrating with Highest Marks." My students were thrilled to have easy access to a wide variety of marker colors and style that made their original illustrations something to brag about. Teaching in a high needs school comes with many challenges and unfortunately my students lack the supplies they need, and explaining the importance of markers and sharpies for older students is difficult.
Imagination, creativity, and dreaming with a quality marker in your hand is not just for elementary students. Creativity and hands-on activities encourage students to be excited about school and learning. Students have been able to upgrade their decorative typography, designs and illustrations using higher quality markers.
Thank you again for helping provide the supplies my students need to "illustrate" their learning.”

Locating the Hidden Figures in My Classroom!
Funded Jan 27, 2019It is with great gratitude and appreciation that I submit this impact letter to you for your support of my classroom and the education of my students. It has been a new and exciting adventure bringing novels into my middle school computer science classroom. Having access to literature that highlights the contributions of women and minorities in STEM has empowered my students to discover the "hidden figure" inside of them.
In education we often say our students cannot be what they cannot see. This novel has enabled my students to see new possibilities in their world. Students were excited to discover that human "computers" came from Arkansas Agricultural, Mechanical & Normal College, now a part of the University of Arkansas system. Sometimes students from rural schools do not realize that there are individuals from similar backgrounds who have contributed greatly to our world. It has also shown my students the evolution of computer science and coding along with the importance of math, not just within NASA, but everyday life.
As a teacher it was exciting to see both my female and male students eager to learn about the contributions of women and minorities in our history and space program. I know my students have been inspired and their horizons broadened, and that they will make amazing contributions to our world.
Again, thank you for your donation.”
