  • This Art Room Needs A Reliable iPad!

    Funded Oct 15, 2023

Thank you again for your generous and thoughtful donation towards my classroom iPad. Since receiving it, I have been able to teach new art techniques and mediums without the stress of having a piece of technology fail. This iPad has become an essential piece of technology in my room. Not only is it used for presenting classroom demonstrations, but it is also used to show students videos pertaining to art history and different art movements.

Prior to Christmas break it was used by my 8th grade homeroom class to take photos of each other for our classroom holiday tree ornaments. Students also enjoyed using the iPad to take photos of each other for the classroom door decoration contest (we won!). I have many more photos to take when break is over, since my 7th grade students will be starting their self portrait unit.

Again, I cannot thank you enough for your kindness and support of my students and my teaching.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Doro

  • A printing press please.

    Funded Feb 8, 2018

Thank you so much for making a new printing press possible in my art room. The students were so excited to see the press when it arrived and I immediately gave a demonstration. My 8th grade students have been using it for their "Social Issues" linocuts. This works so much better than rubbing the paper with a wooden spoon. The quality of the print is so much clearer.

My students asked me where this press came from and I told them about your generosity. Many students were surprised that strangers would do this for them. I explained it was because people believe in them and want them to do their best. Thank you so much for believing in my students and their education.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Doro

All of my students create art using some form of printing (linoleum cuts, intaglio, or mono prints. We currently use the back of a wooden spoon to apply pressure to the plate to get a quality print. A printing press would help my classroom immensely. Students would be able to get a high quality print by using a professional piece of equipment. I believe in using quality materials for my students and a printing press would make this curriculum shine. Not only would it give the students a better print, it would also allow for faster printing in every class.
