Once again, I am in awe of your generosity in making another wish of mine come true! I am looking forward to diving into this project with my students.

Your kindness over the past 18 years in helping to fund the projects for my students has been much appreciated. Through the ripple effect of your support over the years, my grants have impacted countless numbers of students. I'm looking forward to sharing pictures of our results with you in the next few months.

Thanks again, your help means EVERYTHING!”

  • We've Depleted Our Ink Supplies!

    Funded May 6, 2019

Thanks or your generous donations. Your continuous support for over the past 10 years has helped improve the lives of many students. Although this most recent grant was to replenish our printer supplies, the ink has been used to help improve the learning of students. For example, our colorful word wall with images has helped students grow their vocabulary and deepened their understanding of these words. The color coded schedules and labels used daily help with the organizational and executive functioning skills that are vital for success in education and the world. For the visual learners, like myself, sometimes seeing things in color helps to make sense of meaning and makes concepts more tangible. The historical imagery and artifacts are more realistic and impactful when printed in color. These are just a few ways that using colored ink helps to improve the learning in my classroom, so thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. H.

  • Bringing History to Life by Reading Engaging Non-Fiction Texts

    Funded Sep 19, 2019

As always, I can’t possibly express my gratitude and appreciation in 38 words! Your investment in my classroom, my students(present and future), and their learning makes all the difference. These books will be used to support two of our social studies units- while also helping us grow our nonfiction reading skills.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. H.

  • Creating a Culture of Empathy for People With Disabilities

    Funded Dec 7, 2018

Thank you very much for your donations. We have thoroughly enjoyed reading the book Rules as a class. We have had many deep, meaningful discussions about Autism and (dis)abilities. As a community we realized that many of us are impacted by Autism, whether it be a younger or older sibling, a classmate or someone in the neighborhood.

The engagement level has been high and every single student has been reading along with empathy and curiosity. You can find us on Friday afternoons, books in hand in our cozy classroom participating in a shared read aloud. We've shared many laughs, and emotional moments together thanks to you!

You are making a difference! Without your generosity we wouldn't have had this amazing experience.

    Thank you... Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. H.

  • Help Refresh our Classroom Library!

    Funded Sep 3, 2018

As always I can't begin to thank you enough for donating to my classroom. Our classroom library has been spruced up with many new, high interest books and I am proud to report that reading engagement is on the rise. My students are enjoying the new series and the classics. There is nothing more exciting than to see students getting lost in their books and sharing cool facts and anecdotes with each other. The Who was/ What is series has been the biggest hit of all! I can't keep these books on the shelf. I love when my students constantly telling me obscure facts about famous people and historical events. We are learning together.

So, THANK YOU for your generosity! This reading teacher is very proud!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. H.

  • Students Experiencing Ink Shortage!

    Funded Dec 10, 2017

Thanks for helping to fund my project! Your donations are invaluable for teachers, like me, who work in low income schools. You are helping to make a difference in the lives of my students.

Although your donation wasn't for something flashy or tangible, the students are benefiting from the ink EVERY day. Whether we are making copies of instructional resources, or printing out our final publishing the students are grateful. The colored ink, in particular, makes social studies maps, projects and posters much more exciting and engaging. The ability to color code charts, directions, visuals and teaching materials helps all students, especially those with special education needs.

Due to the limited budget at our school, printers and printer ink is a luxury that is only available at the expense of classroom teachers. Therefore, your donation takes a weight off of my shoulders and allows for me to provide other necessary items not provided by my school for my students.

As always, I am so grateful for your help and I know my students are too. Thanks again!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. H.

  • A Cost-Effective Printer with Supplies to Better Support Our Learning!

    Funded Jan 25, 2017

Having this printer has made the day-to-day inner workings of teaching so much easier. If we need copies pronto, Bam! Lyrics to "Man in the Mirror"? Voila! Pictures for your biography project? No problem! This printer allows us, teachers, to have a little more spontaneity and teach in real time! We are able to meet the immediate needs of our students as opposed to waiting for copies to be returned the next day, or days later (if the school copier is down). The colored printing feature has been helpful for reproducing graphs, charts and images for all students, in addition to making the word walls and classroom more colorful!

For the students this printer gives them immediate gratification for projects that they are working on. They also feel more sophisticated when typing their writing (on our donated Chromebooks) and printing out their final product on the printer. We are preparing them for 5th grade by giving them the opportunity to use technology.

Since the printer has a wireless printing option, many teachers are using this printer to help support their classrooms too! The best part is that the original toner cartridges are still being used. This printer is fast, efficient and great for our environment (well better, at least?).

Thanks for supporting our classroom(s). You are making the difference! I have an abundance of gratitude and appreciation for your help in making my classroom an exciting and technology savvy place!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. H.

  • Assistive Technology: Help Me Enrich My Teaching!

    Funded Dec 23, 2016

First and foremost a HUGE thank you is in order! Your support has helped make learning more inclusive and fun for all of my students! Most recently we have been using these Chromebooks to help find research for our American Revolution project. Each student is making a information book about the revolution. For example, on Friday, those researchers who are learning about the Battle of Brooklyn watched videos to help gather more information about this historic event that took place where we live! The depth and quality of our research is fantastic due to the fact that we now have access to unlimited resources as a result of these Chrome books. My students are reading together and watching videos together - it is amazing! Without your help I wouldn't be able to provide my students with these unique opportunities. We have been using the technology daily and I have also seen reading levels and fluency soar!

Thanks so much for your help!

I can't begin to tell you how grateful we are!

You have made all the difference.”

  • Assistive Technology: Making Writing And Math Accessible To All Learners!

    Funded Sep 9, 2016

Thank you so very much for your generous contribution to our classroom. Since many of my students don't have access to computers or the Internet at home these Chromebooks have provided them with the same opportunities as those who do.

The students use these computers for many aspects of the curriculum. Besides math and writing, we have used them for social studies, centers, reading fluency, research and even for test prep. These computers have allowed us to enrich our curriculum. Additionally, we are able to better meet the needs of all learning styles with the addition of this technology. We use these computers daily!

I'm sure you would be happy to know that we also share these computers with other classrooms and students to assist in their learning as well!

Thanks so very much from all of the students and teachers! Your support is helping teachers to bring amazing resources into their classrooms. Thanks for making our wishes come true!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. H.

My students are generally first generation children of immigrants. Our school is a cultural melting pot where at least 15 different languages are spoken! The majority of my students are first generation immigrants hailing from such locations as Bangladesh, Mexico, Ukraine, Yemen and China. Over 75% of the students in my school qualify for free or reduced price lunch. These are hard working students who in many cases don't have access to the same advantages as other schools in our district. We are a big Title 1 public school with a VERY tight budget. Please consider donating to my classroom community. I promise-- Your donation will be put to great use! Thank You!
