Our students participate in a College and Career Readiness course, Pathways to College and Career (PCC), that is designed to prepare them for life after high school. We show them different paths that are available (e.g. college, trade school, military, etc.) and prepare them with academic skills necessary to handle the rigor of college coursework, while also equipping them with soft skills necessary to thrive in collegiate and professional settings. Many of our kids would be first generation college students and need the extra support and guidance. Unfortunately, COVID has left many of them void of normal day to day communication skills or social skills, or the desire to work or relate with others in social settings. In some instances, students have lost their intrinsic motivation to excel academically. My team would like to use our Glow Games experience to motivate students as well as work on their social skills. Students would be divided into teams and given task cards that must be completed in order to advance to each station or game. Task cards would require students to use their knowledge of the different objectives that we have taught.
