  • Brilliant Biographies to Inspire our Future Leaders

    Funded Sep 1, 2019

I cannot thank you enough for donating these books to my class! My students absolutely love them and cannot get enough of them! They are having so much fun learning all about famous artists, presidents, scientists and inventors!

As they read, they are learning important researching skills like note-taking, and answering important questions they have about the people they are reading about.

Next, my students will write their own biographies about someone they want to learn even more about! They will read, do research and write about a person who made a huge difference in our world! They can't wait to do their biography projects and show them off!

It is in large part due to your donation of these amazing books that my students are able to do this project, a project they will hopefully never forget! Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Baldacci

  • Beautiful Books about Butterflies and Their Extraordinary Life Cycle!

    Funded Aug 18, 2019

With the fantastic books you all helped purchase for my classroom, my students were immersed in all things butterflies! As they read these books, my students learned so many fascinating facts about butterflies. They loved reading with partners, independently, in small groups and whole group. I read aloud many of these books to teach my students how to answer questions about key details in the text. They learned content specific vocabulary words. They learned the characteristics of butterflies and the steps in the butterfly life cycle. After reading all of these books, my students wrote all about butterflies in a way that demonstrated how much they learned! Because of these books, my students can now describe in detail the life cycle of butterflies. These books really helped me bring my butterfly unit to life for my students. They loved this unit, and so did I! My students and I will be forever grateful to you for your donations!”

  • Spotlight on Reading!

    Funded Dec 5, 2011

You cannot begin to imagine how much the new books and book boxes have improved our classroom. My students are so excited for independent reading time, when they can get their hands on one of their brand new favorite books to read happily in their comfortable spots. They also adore partner reading time, which is now much more interesting for them, since we now have multiple copies of engaging new books for the students to read with their reading buddy. The students are also really happy to be able to carry around their new books in their colorful, sturdy, shiny new book boxes.

Our classroom would not be able to practice our comprehension and fluency reading skills with nearly as much enthusiasm as we now can everyday if it were not for the generous donation you made to help us get funny, entertaining and exciting new books that help us become better readers. My students and I are enormously grateful that you chose to help transform our classroom library into a place where we are thrilled for that time of day when we get to read to ourselves or with a friend.Thank you so much donors for your wonderful contribution to our classroom. Our class, and future students who enter this classroom, will not forget your generosity!

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Baldacci

  • Teaching Math with Manipulatives

    Funded May 10, 2010

I cannot begin to thank you enough for your generous donation of math manipulatives and art supplies to my classroom. My students have been so excited to use our new supplies during math to help them learn new concepts. Right after we received the supplies, we used the color tiles to build our graphs and our new colored pencils to draw our graphs. The children could not have been happier to have supplies like these, which made their learning experience so much richer and meaningful for them.

Without donors like you, my students would not have such quality materials to learn with, especially in times like these, when funding for classroom materials is sparse. Thank you so much for choosing to fund my project. It makes a huge difference in classrooms like mine!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Baldacci

  • Help us Read at Any Level!

    Funded Apr 28, 2010

This is just a small token of my appreciation for all that you have done for my students and our classroom. Since our new leveled classroom library has arrived, my students have enjoyed reading independently and buddy reading about all sorts of interesting topics. They have also made book recommendations to their classmates and friends and written book reviews for future students.

My students and I feel so fortunate that there are people out there like you, who care so much about education. The difference you have made in my classroom is truly immeasurable. You have not only made a positive impact on my current students, but your donation will continue to shape the lives of future readers in my classroom for years to come.

Thank you for giving my students the opportunity to read rich literature that is just right for them. The enthusiasm for reading has really soared in our classroom since receiving our new books. Without donors like you, thousands of children in the United States would go without.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Baldacci

We no longer have a large book filled with different stories that all students are required to read a page at a time out loud. Schools now run readers workshop where kids pick books at their own level where they can feel successful. Being a new teacher I don't have a large library with varied levels. I borrow from our school library and even visit our public library to get books into my students hands. I am looking for a leveled library so that all my students have a book that they can read.
