Charged up for Technology!
Funded Apr 7, 2022Thank you so much for helping my students now and in the future to be able to charge and use their iPads in school everyday. The charging dock allows my students to charge their iPads if they did not get a chance to do so the night before. It also keeps the iPads organized for the students when they are not using them.
There are such a wide variety of learners in my classroom and having use of technology in the classroom helps meet their needs. There are many students in the class who are just learning the language and this helps them to visit various learning websites.
The students love using the pens to interact on the iPads. The pens allow the students to keep their writing on the iPad organized and helps them navigate the iPad Apps quickly.
We are so lucky to have these extra resources in our classroom!”

Funded Jan 29, 2021My students were so excited to see their new supplies. It is has brought much more life and engagement to our lessons. I am able to see the students' work on their white board and the markers make the letters and numbers bold for me to give corrective feedback! They love showing off the use of their math supplies during our lessons! When I told them special people had bought supplies for them, they were shocked! We are all so thankful! Thank you so much for supporting us during this hard time!!!”

Funded Apr 3, 2018I wish I was ready for the reaction of my students when the principal delivered our new supplies to use. They were so excited!!! Next time I do a Donor's Choose Project, I will be sure to have my camera ready so I can capture the moment to send back to you guys! Working in a low income school means that supplies are not always received and the resources can be minimal. With a spending budget from the city of about 250$, it is extremely difficult to ensure that we have everything we need for the entire school year.
In our classroom we are always using pencils, even the teachers prefer pencils sometimes because we can erase a mistake!!! I have also given many students some pencils and erasers to take home to make sure that they are bale to complete their homework or do other activities where writing is required. During most of our lessons we work with dry erase boards and markers. This allows for easy assessment for the students with minimal materials on the floor. Our centers for math and reading are usually laminated for safe keeping and reusing or put into a plastic sleeve protector which allows for easy erasing and reusing. Often when the school year starts, we are given a box of crayons but there is never anywhere for the kids to keep them handy. Few students bring in pencil cases and zip lock baggies can rip and sometimes be more of a headache if they don't close properly. The plastic crayon cases allow us to organize the crayons in a bin where the children can easily access them when they need. We make so many mistakes in first grade and the small pencil top erasers do not last as long as the pencil, so eraser caps and large single erasers have come in handy for us in the classroom. This helps us use the pencils longer and understand that we can erase in other ways.
We are over joyed with the supplies received and it makes the beginning, middle, and end of the year way less stressful!!”
