So much can be learned from a great book. High quality books with rich language and beautiful illustrations help all students learn literacy, mathematical, and social emotional concepts. Books play a major role in our classroom every day. Students participate in book conversations after our whole group story time, use books as a resource to find information and have the opportunity to select books for independent reading. By having a collection of books that support social emotional development, students will participate in book experiences that discuss what it means to be a compassionate citizen and practice those behaviors inside of the classroom.
