The materials which our class is requesting is going to make a huge impact on their continued progress in math and reading. For example; the Bluford Series reading books will aid my students in learning literary concepts such as theme, main idea, summary and inferences by being able to relate directly to characters and events in each story. My students will become even more excited about reading and writing because they have an opportunity to identify with the characters in the story! They will also be able to see me while I'm teaching class a lot better while using the "high-chair". This means that they'll have better focus and attention on the lesson at- hand rather than focusing on tracking the speaker and attaining the lesson. Most of my students need maximum support when it comes to them attaining school supplies so the fact that we'll be able to have pencils and calculators in class for independent practice time will take an additional burden off of them and their families. It will also motivate them to work in class where access to supplies is readily available at their disposal.
