These materials will allow my students to have tactile learning experiences. I have covered a variety of areas to enhance their learning; math, science, literacy and art. My students will use these materials throughout the day, in large group and small group instruction and through individual exploratory play. The colored kinetic sand, magic water marbles, wacky water droppers, float and find alphabet bubbles, and see-through pitchers allow the students opportunities to learn through touch, sight and sound at the sensory table. The magnet set and magnetic wands allow the students to work on cause-and-effect experiments in the classroom; which objects will stick to magnets and which objects will not. The draw-and-write touch board, sentence strips and the dot dice allow the students time to practice their fine-motor skills, first through finger isolation and later through writing utensil grip time. The art materials allow the students, even the nonverbal students, to express themselves through paint or collages. Your generous donation to our project will improve the classroom activities that my Special Education Preschool students get to participate in to become stronger learners. My students will be having so much fun with these new materials, that they will not even realize that they are learning. They will be engaged and begin to feel successes, leading to a more promising educational future.
