By creating a math library, I believe it is a way for me to invite children into the world of math. Reading books that weave mathematical ideas into engaging stories helps dispel the myth the math is dry, unimaginative, and inaccessible. Children's books can not only generate interest in math but also provide contexts that help bring meaning to abstract concepts. I believe that a classroom library is the heartbeat of a teacher's environment. It is the window into an educator's own personality, and it reflects the importance of literacy in the classroom. I believe that every teacher no matter what subject he or she teaches should have one.
