Studies show that students learn best when they are able to move freely while learning. For many of my students this is difficult to do while sitting in a stiff chair. I have tried yoga balls in my classroom, but they are too large and a little too wiggly for students to maintain good classroom behavior. Wobble stools offer students stability with the option to rock back and forth, stretch their legs and give freedom to sit however they feel comfortable while learning. These stools also give students the ability to release excess energy while still giving them plenty of support and studies have shown that use of the stool also offers the ability to exercise their back muscles just be using the stool. Each student will have the ability to use a wobble stool while in my classroom. This is a way to offer flexible seating without taking up too much floor space in my classroom which is what I found difficult when using the yoga balls. By giving kiddos this ability to move while learning, it will help them release stress and extra energy and allow them to learn while feeling less wiggly and while feeling supported.
