Our Media Center is the heart of our school, but it has outdated furniture that is not conducive to collaborative work and is not comfortable for students to just hang out and read. My goal is to create multiple seating areas throughout the library where students can work together or just sit quietly and enjoy a great book. Comfortable seating will make the Media Center feel more inviting. Students are in and out of the library all day working on projects and checking out books. They come in before school and during lunch periods. So many of our students suffered damage to their homes and belongings due to Hurricane Florence, and I want to be able to offer them a new, clean, comfortable spot to work, read, and relax.
