"The Hate U Give" by Angie Thomas and "The skin I'm In" by Sharon G. Flake are both great novels in our quest to build reading stamina. It provides the girls a chance to examine Literature by way of two wonderful female authors. Reading stamina is a huge issue at our school, and the advisers of the GirSquad program, as well as myself, would love to see these girls grow immensely on their End Of Grade test. One of the missions of GirlSquad is to see personal self-growth. Through the BlackGirls Read BookClub these girls can accomplish just that!
