  • Fueling The Body Helps Fuel The Mind

    Thank you for providing snacks for my students. As you can see from our pictures, the students love the variety of options. It is easier to pay attention in class if you aren't starving. Teenagers, especially the boys, have big appetites and our school lunches do not provide enough food to fill them up. As a teacher, I know my students are able to do better in class when basic needs, such as hunger are met. Snacks are not provided by the school so these make a difference. The students at Riverside say thank you for your support!”

  • Alternative to Textbooks for an Alternative Program

    Thank you for the reading materials for our science class. These have been a useful tool for the students in person. Scholastic also includes some virtual tools for both in person and virtual learning. These articles have been perfect for students working on a lower reading level while still covering the science subjects in our curriculum. The students have also enjoyed receiving their own copy. With not being able to share materials, we are thrilled to have something with beautiful photos that we can give to each student. Thank you for your generosity.”

  • Alternative Seating for an Alternative School

    The stools have been a wonderful alternative for the students who have started returning to in person instruction. They are also an easy material to sanitize which helps in these current times. The students and teachers enjoy using them throughout the day. They allow movement at a time when movement within the building is extremely restricted. We also appreciate the fact they are light weight and easy to move around the room. Hopefully, as students continue to return to in school instruction we will continue to see them be enjoyed by many more. We hope to be using these stools for many years to come.”

The students in my classroom have not been successful in the traditional school setting. Therefore, it is critical for us to offer them alternative methods to help them succeed. One thing we have found helpful is offering a variety of seating options. These wobble chairs are perfect because they offer the students the ability to move around while remaining at their desk and completing assignments. Offering a variety of seating gives students a choice on a daily basis which also allows them to pick what seating works best for their individual learning styles. We have found that some students prefer to sit in specific spots while others prefer to work in a less traditional seat.

About my class
