Flexible for the Twice Exceptional
Funded Nov 22, 2019How can I even begin to thank you for your wonderful gift? Your kindness and generosity has given our classroom some amazing Surf Seats that encourage the students to focus and concentrate. They use them to work both independently and in groups. The seats are perfect for laptops and working with pencil and paper. Children are not meant to sit at desks all day every day. They need to freedom to move around and sit in places and seats that are comfortable, and in a location of their choosing. We truly love our new Surf Seats! Thank you so much!”

A Place for Everything, and Everything in it's Place
Funded Aug 20, 2015Our new cubbies are AMAZING! I can't even begin to thank you enough for your kindness and generosity. Every child has their own space for a back pack and area for their lunchbox. The cubbies have eliminated all the messiness and clutter, and the classroom looked so much neater and more organized. Our classroom is the talk of the town and people come by just to see our latest acquisition. Aside from being aesthetically pleasing, the cubbies provide students with a place to call their own. They practice responsibility and independence by taking care of their own area.
Thank you again:)”

Bringing Books to Life
Funded Jan 27, 2015Thank you so much for your incredible kindness and generosity. I have an amazing group of children who are going to learn a great amount, all due to your donation. As Maria Montessori said, children really do learn through play. Being able to reenact and retell favorite classic stories will not only enhance their learning, but is also a wonderful hands on way to learn essential common core skills such as text features, sequencing, and concepts of print. I am so excited to introduce these new materials to the classroom.”

Good Grammar Goes a Long Way
Funded Jan 1, 2015Thank you so much for this incredibly kind and generous gift. Your donation has made grammar amazing fun and enjoyable for this class of amazing children. You sent us three sets of cards that accompany some wonderful books that the children are already familiar with. These lessons have made adjectives, adverbs, and prepositions come alive in such a way that the students will really retain the information. We try to stay away from rote memorization and activities like the ones you provided are so hands on and concrete!
Thank you so much!”

Ecosystems Close to Home: Everglades and Coral Reefs
Funded Aug 24, 2014How can I begin to even thank you for your extraordinarily kind and generous gift? I have never seen students so mesmerized by an activity. They sat in fascinated silence while I took out each animal and plant for them match. Each student is now making their own "Everglades" booklet with each page containing a picture and a fact about 10 chosen organisms. They are so proud of their work and are taking such time and attention to detail. This was such a special and exciting gift! Other teachers keep coming to check out”

Funded Aug 24, 2014How can I begin to even thank you for your extraordinarily kind and generous gift? I have never seen students so mesmerized by an activity. They sat in fascinated silence while I took out each animal and plant for them match on the tree. Then we used the cards in the fact file to learn about each organism. Each student is now making their own "Tree of Life" booklet with each page containing a picture and a fact about 10 chosen organisms. They are so proud of their work and are taking such time and attention to detail.
Thank you so much!”

Funded Sep 22, 2013Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. The Teaching TOOBs you have bought us have enhanced our curriculum enormously. My students are really able to see concrete examples of the animals, people, and structures they are learning about. The TOOBs have encouraged such creativity and higher level thinking as the students invent their own tasks and assignments. From kindergarteners matching labels with replicas, to the first graders doing research, the TOOBs hit every level of learning development. We hope you enjoy the pictures!!!”

Social Studies Through Art
Funded Apr 24, 2013Thank you so much for your extraordinarily kind and generous gift! Your donation has really allowed us to incorporate art into our academic curriculum. We are studying Ancient Greece and mythology. The weaving loom and mosaic tiles really allow students to relate to ancient Greek life and provide valuable (and fun) hands-on experiences.
It brings me such joy to see their excitement and focus as they weave and tile. They are inspired to learn more about Greek life, the Olympics, astrology, and life in other cultures.
We thank you so much again for supporting us!”

Recess Should Be Fun!
Funded Nov 16, 2012How can we even begin to thank you for the extraordinarily kind donation? Because of your generosity, an entire grade level has the opportunity to engage in all sorts of activities. From organized and teacher led games, to independent and student led free play, children are learning so many valuable skills. Athletics really lends itself to development in cooperation, negotiation, sportsmanship, socialization, turn taking, and so much more. So many important life skills are practiced through outdoor play. We are so grateful for your gift and the everlasting learning and joy it will provide.”

Meet the Masters - What Happened to Art?
Funded Oct 15, 2012Thank you so much for your very kind and generous donation. I hope that by sharing these pictures, you can see the joy and excitement you have brought to my students. Their eyes lit up when we opened the box and they were all shouting about which artist they wanted to read about first.
Common Core Standards across the country require a large percentage of non-fiction reading material. We have plenty of county and state supplied texts on science and social studies, but nothing in the arts. You have provided 18 amazing K1 children with the opportunity to read and learn about a very important part of history.”
