On behalf of Mr. Griggs' classroom at Pacific Elementary School, we would like to thank you for your generous donation toward our Chromebook. It has been a wonderful addition to our classroom and it is having an impact on the students. The Chromebook is helping my students learn because it allows them the opportunity to take advantage of district-related apps and learning websites. My students are able to access readily available material in the areas of Math, Science, English Language Arts, and Social Studies.
Many of my students like the design, size, and ease of use the Chromebook offers. Students are able to easily log in through their district email addresses to access helpful learning materials.
Several of my students have enjoyed using the technology because it gives them a different way to learn and apply knowledge. Instead of merely hearing my voice and writing on a piece of paper, they are able to use technology to learn and apply.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Verizon and one other donor.

My students would benefit from using Chromebooks to enhance their knowledge in Life Science and other scientific concepts. The 21st Century student must learn to navigate themselves in a technological world that is rooted in Math and Science. In order to communicate and collaborate with peers, I must expose and teach my students to think critically to the point where their creativity and innovation will help them solve problems; problems which may not even exist just yet. By using technology in Science, my students will access Federal and State Standards in Science but also in Writing & Speaking, even public speaking. For example, I will use the Chromebooks to show my students images of Plant Cells, Animal Cells, The Human Body, etc. Chromebooks give the students an opportunity to see a virtual version of a real-life living thing. The goal is to teach them the standards, but also to pique their interest in Science and Math so they will possibly pursue careers in Engineering, Science and Math.
