The students in our program are often challenged to move like typical children, so we are constantly looking for creative ways to encourage wellness through movement of any kind. Our students love sensory experiences, and we need these non-traditional tools to facilitate this.
The black light flashlights and accessories will allow our students opportunities to go on physically challenging "hikes" in the darkened gym. This might include balance activities, jumping across a "river," participating in flashlight relays, and looking for fluorescent bubble lightning bugs. We work and play hard to get our heart rates up!
The floor tiles, crash pad, toobs, and parachute toys will give our students with limited mobility options for playing on the floor with engaging visual, auditory, and tactile stimuli.
Our students love PE class and the opportunity to joyfully move. They are thriving in PE!
