My school is an inner city school that serves students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The second grade students come from diverse backgrounds. The students enjoy picking books from the library. Between my homeroom and my reading group I have about 52 students choosing from this library. As the year progresses they need more books to choose from especially as their reading level improves. I feel adding more leveled books will only improve their independent reading and foster a love of reading.
