  • Creative Rewards

    Funded Dec 1, 2021

We want to thank you for the supplies you purchased for our Accelerated Reader Party. These students went above and beyond on reading and getting the points they needed to attend the party. Students enjoyed painting, sand art, creating their own art project, craft boxes, and bracelet making. One of their favorites was the sand art! They were so excited to see the choices, they did not know where to start first! Students are currently working on their new AR goals, and will be celebrating with a new celebration in May. Thank you so much for your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Orobona

  • Building Research Within the Library

    Funded Jan 14, 2021

The iPads we received from Donor's Choose have helped students so much this year. We have used them for research projects. Students were assigned a planet or animal to research and this gave them access to educational websites to view. They were also able to view pictures of their research topic. We also used the iPads for Makerspace activities, which include robots and virtual reality.

Most students have not experienced the virtual reality, which gave them an up close experience. They enjoy playing and coding the robots. This opportunity has given them access to experiences they may not have experienced otherwise. Computers are definitely in our future, and the more students know how they work, the better opportunities they have for future jobs.

Students who may have difficulty paying attention have been very successful with the new technology. The technology has given them the opportunity of keep them busy and engaged.

We have enjoyed our new technology at our school and appreciate you for being so generous!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Orobona

  • AR in AR - Augmented Reality in Arkansas!

    Funded Aug 23, 2018

The students at Amboy Elementary are thoroughly enjoying the AR within the Makerspace. They have been able to discover and explore many different AR programs using the new ipad and solar system cards given by you! Having this type of program has brought excitement and more interest from students involving Augmented Reality.

As the library media specialist, I was able to review and study AR and the benefits of it being used in a Makerspace. It allows the topic or the place to come alive for the student. It makes them feel as if they can touch the planet or like they are floating in space. It allows them to turn and look at the planet up close. Different technology within the Makerspace gives students choices and grows their interest in this field.

The Makerspace within our library is constantly growing and I would love to see more skills and products added to our Makerspace. I would like to see 3D printers and a possible green screen for announcements for classroom projects.

The students and I would like to send our extreme gratitude for your donation! We are excited to learn and to have something new to explore in our Makerspace!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Orobona

  • Makey Make Us Smarter!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

My students have enjoyed their Makerspace so much this past year. They were able to create, collaborate, critically think, and just have plain fun in their different centers. Having a Makerspace has allowed students to be able to work with different students within their classroom and be able to experiment with technology they have not had the opportunity to play with. We have Makerspace every other week in the library and the students can hardly wait for the weeks we have Makerspace! We have enjoyed our robots, art, board games, Legos, puzzles, and many other items. Thank you again from Amboy Elementary School!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Orobona

We just recently started Makerspace within the library. The students are excited about creating and working together on projects. These materials would be very beneficial to our students. The Ozobots allow students to learn about coding and collaborating with other students to create and build. The Cublets allow the students to create robots and discover what the robots can do. The Microbits are a great way for students to learn about computer programming through coding and using their imaginations. The art supplies will keep us supplied with the materials for students to be able to create a unique craft that is all their own. My students are excited about using the Makerspace and always look forward of new ways to use technology!
