Creativity - Create It, Share It and Show It !
Funded Nov 18, 2019The Create It, Share It and Show It Project was created to provide the students with more options to create digital art that can be used during advisory community grade projects and to add a customized personal touch to academic displays and projects.
When the students first saw the machine they were excited and looking forward to creating things like student customized stickers to sell to the school community to raise funds for initiatives that we support during various times of the year as an 8th grade student body.
My 8th grade girls were able to do that through showcasing their creativity for their Business Letter Project. The project provided each student with a letter from a customer who forgot an aspect of their purchase but provided enough information to the business owner (the student) such that they can solve the customer's problem and to find the cost of the item or the amount of items purchased. They were able to create a storefront for their business to advertise their business and to show off their customer relation skills by utilizing math (solve system of equations) and art to create an eye catching business related item that they solved related to the task described in the letter.
My students have also taken more initiative to learn how to use the Design Space Application. Although they continue to make mistakes they are perseverant in learning how they can utilize the Cricut machine for all their possible ideas including researching youtube videos that can help them discover steps to creating the project of their dreams.
Thank you for allowing my students to have tangible experiences that can be transferred to their everyday life like being persistent, innovative, research/goal oriented and creative using technology that is new to them. The experiences they have been able to accomplish through the use of the Cricut machine is something that will resonate with them forever especially when faced with challenges related to trying something new in life.”

Funded Mar 27, 2018As many of you know students need to have student work that is geared to meet them where they are. There are times when students may need more time to analyze and practice items that they individually struggle with. The technology in the class has been used to provide students with the opportunity to get that individual practice in real time when needed to practice underlying skills that will help them reach the goal for the lesson.
Students are excited to be able to print out the practice sheets that they need to develop the skills that they are struggling with and as a result build the introductory or for some extend their current knowledge of the skills which provided daily differentiation based on where the the kids are.
The printer has also allowed students to print out necessary work associated to completing class projects and assignments something they were unable to because many did not have access to printing at home and their was limited printing in the school building. With a larger use of online resources to support student learning the printer has allowed the students to fill in the gap at school and let school serve as a hub to assist with students having hard copies of the resources available.
In conclusion, thank you on behalf on my school community for the donation you have been able to provide. It has not only changed the dynamics of learning in math class but has also served as a hub for students to express themselves through different tasks to show mastery of content such as projects and journals.”
