It has been proven over and over again that independent reading bridges the achievement gap. If I can get my students hooked on reading, their literacy skills will improve and their performance will increase in every subject area! I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I can get my students to read, but I need variety and quantity to accomplish this goal. We don't have a school library and of the books we do have, most are not relatable to my kids. I plan to share these books with my students, my co-teachers, and hopefully with the entire school community.

About my class
