Providing student the ability to access technology via touchscreen devices allows them learning at their fingertips. Some students are less fortunate and not able to utilize computers and technology in the classroom or at home. Within school districts there is a process for students to be evaluated and considered eligible or ineligible for technology devices based on specific needs. Some students don't qualify for such technology devices even though they could benefit greatly from being able to utilize such tools within their school setting. When student have technology access it fosters a love of learning across a variety of educational genres. There is evidence based research that confirms student learning can be solidified with access to technology. Students enjoy learning with technology and teachers have formulated more ways of integrating technology in classrooms (Learning With Technology – 10 New Technologies in Education, Karehka Ramey,March 4, 2014). We must not use technology just because it is available. We must use it when, and only when, we can see how it will enable us to do the education job better (www.brown.edu). Educational technology supports individual learning, so students will find it comfortable...(Learning With Technology – 10 New Technologies in Education, Karehka Ramey,March 4, 2014). "Overall we found strong evidence that educational technology complements what a great teacher does naturally. It extends their reach. It also broadens the student experience by taking them places they may not otherwise be able to go," says Dr. Marshall.
