Students will use the fabulous writing stand and accompanying STEM materials to explore early engineering and mathematical ideas. Working with blocks, dice, number lines, and unifix cubes makes learning so much more interesting as their young, creative minds start to make sense of the world around us. They love to explore and create patterns as they delve into early science and engineering practices. The favorite for my kiddos is always creating and finding growing and shrinking patterns using our new blocks, cubes, dice, and anything we can find! Students will learn to represent numbers from 0-100 as well as compare and order them. They will practice counting forward by 1s, 2s, 5, and 10s. With our new tools, they will practice finding ten more and ten less proving that an engaged student is an inquisitive student! These activities would significantly help my students' understanding of numeracy as well as early patterns, scale, and quantity. Students can practice using these very basic STEM ideas that relate to careers such as architecture, graphic design, and modeling. In the end, they will be problem-solvers, empowered to take the skills and knowledge in their class to improve their lives and those of people around them.
