Enhancing the Knowledge of Students Through Technology and More!
Funded Feb 9, 2018I would like to thank you again for being such a blessing to my project Enhancing the Knowledge of Students Through Technology and More! Your donations made such a great impact on my students learning. The workstation activities, helped my students take ownership of their own learning in a fun way. My students used these activities to reinforce the skills that were taught within the classroom. My student's were able to work in groups with their peers, and give help to those who had trouble with certain skills. The students really enjoyed the non fiction books as well as the fiction books. The books helped the students to build their fluency and vocabulary. I noticed an increase in the students reading level, once they read the books that they helped me pick out. The students found that reading non fiction stories helped them to write their own non fiction stories as well. The different types of books helped with the students writing technique. The listening station as well as the tablets gave the student the opportunity to hear stories read fluently in a variety of different voices, this really helped build fluency because the students were able to hear what fluency sounds like as well as practice their own fluency. The students were able to use the tablets to read a variety of books at their own ready level on Epic. The students loved having all of the different books to read on that program. The students couldn't wait to get on Epic and read. When the student's would share out, I would hear someone say, I read the same book. I would also hear the students say, I'm going to read that book next time. The tablets along with the students, helped encouraged the love and enjoyment of reading. The Epic program helped the students keep track of their reading progress as well. My class also used the tablets to play Kahoot. We used Kahoot to quiz and reinforce our reading and language skills. The students loved to go against each other in Kahoot. We played in teams which helped with their team building skills. In the future I would love to have a class set of tablets , to give students the opportunity to answer the questions independently. We are blessed to have individuals who care about education as much as we do. Thank you so much.”
With gratitude,
Ms. McKensie
